the old ride is gone, and the new one has arrived

Enter witty title here.

so i haven't updated in forever....sue me.   on second thought, please don't.  i'm already broke enough as it is, and i definitely don't need you hounding me for money i owe you due to xanga-deprivation.  besides, haven't you heard?  xanga is dead.

which brings me to my entry, pseudo-entitled 'things that have changed since i stopped updating my xanga' (and this is by no means in any order of importance) :

1.  apparently xanga is dead.

this came as kind of a shock, or as much of a shock as one could have while being completely apathetic to the situation.  xanga had been a staple in my life (sad but true, my inner xanga stalker is coming out of the closet), and i was sad to hear that the youth of this generation will not experience the joys of having a xanga.....ok you know you're getting old when you refer to kids in high school/college as 'the youth of this generation'....but i'll talk about that later.

i guess the obvious replacement for xanga has been facebook, the addiction of college and high school students nationwide.  i guess while i'm letting all my deep, dark secrets out, i'll go ahead and admit that i've also spent countless, glorious hours basking in the joy of discovering everyone's 'details', such as 'high school musical' is now one of dennis lee's favorite movies!  and he just realized that 17 minutes ago!  yeah, i really needed to know that.  thanks, facebook.

xanga was special, my first step into the world of social networking.  i mean sure facebook has 'notes', but where are the eprops?  gone forever, apparently.

2.  i 'work' at usaa

no, that is not a typo.  no, i don't work for america, harharhar.  funny.  no, i am not becoming cynical with age.  ok well maybe the last one i am, but whatever.  i am going to mass answer these FAQs for not only mine but everyone's sake.

"so how's work?" - i don't know.  i'll let you know when i actually do some, but that won't be until after new years.  why?  because thats when my first project gets going, aaaaaand i'm probably already losing you.

"what do you do at work?"  - techinically, i am an IT Apprentice Programmer/Analyst.  but in reality, i do absolutely no programming, but instead work as an IT business manager.  once again,  i'm probably losing you already.  but in case i havent, basically i'm involved in project development, acting as the business lead within the core project team, providing voice of the customer that is critical to a quality product.

...yeah, moving on.

"do you like your job?" - yes and no.  i like what i'm supposed to be doing, but so far i haven't had the chance to actually DO any of it as it was meant to be done.  i like the people, and i like the mission.  i'd still rather be an nba basketball player though...

3.  i am getting old.....and fighting it with a motorcycle!

i have calcium deposits on my knees.  i have lower back problems.  i go to sleep before most of you even hit the peak of your day.

but now i'm fighting back.  all i have to say is that if you've never considered riding a motorcycle, do it now.  arthritis will be here before you know it!

4.  im tired and too lazy to write any more.  too bad, i had started off with so much fervor and ambition.

ah well, til next time.  maybe.
